Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree of English literature. Mitchell began her career with KYW Radio and TV as the Philadelphia reporter in 1967. She became a reporter for the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) located situated in Washington DC. She became a Washington general reporter with NBC News two years later. 1980 began her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the main congressional reporter. Mitchell was promoted to the chief White House correspondent in 1992. and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist for the TV program Meet the Press and also host of the show. Mitchell also participated as a panelist in the 1988 debates between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in 2005 by the John F. Kennedy School of Government to honor her achievements in the field of journalism. In 2004 The Radio-Television News Directors Association gave Mitchell the Leonard Zeidenberg Award to recognize for her work in protecting First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was a reporter at the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell reported on many noteworthy issues, such as the arms control, budget taxes and the Iran Contra scandal. She also traveled to many summits with the help of President Reagan along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
